Russell Madden Hall, 8 lbs, 1 oz, and 21 inches long, was the first baby of the year born at TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center.

Proud parents Meredith and David Hall of Goodlettsville welcomed their first child, a healthy baby boy, at 12:21pm on January 2 at the Birth Center at TriStar Hendersonville. Helen Cavasin, MD, OB/GYN, delivered the newborn.

"What better way to ring in 2017 than with the gift of life! We are blessed to be part of the Hall family's big day," said Jan Alexander, director of The Birth Center. "There is a sense of excitement that comes with delivering the first baby of the New Year and the Halls will now get to celebrate the holiday in a whole new way."

Russell is the first of approximately 1,000 babies delivered annually at The Birth Center at TriStar Hendersonville.
